Six trusted life safety brands unite under one new company

July 1, 2026, MONTREAL, QC – WATERAX, a leading manufacturer of lightweight portable fire pumps, is now part of Sentorum, a newly formed company uniting six established brands across fire, hazmat, and industrial protection: Scott Safety, Holmatro, Task Force Tips, Amkus, Fire Fighting Systems, and WATERAX. Together, the six brands represent decades of work in more than 150 countries, making Sentorum one of the most comprehensive life safety companies in the world today.

The name Sentorum means the protectors. The company is built on the idea of being the protector of the protectors, standing behind the firefighters, rescue teams, and industrial crews who keep everyone else safe.

"We intend to be the most innovative company in life safety, anywhere. Not the biggest, but the best at the thing that actually matters, which is sending people home at the end of the shift and keeping the crew, the plant, and the community safe," said Kristofer Howard, President and CEO of Sentorum. "Sentorum is built on names people already trust. Each brand keeps its name and identity. Everything we build from here, we build on what these teams have already made."

For WATERAX customers and partners, the most important part is the simplest: nothing about how they do business with WATERAX changes. The company keeps its name, its team, and the way it shows up for the people it serves. Its portable fire pumps continue to be built and supported by the same people. What changes is the company standing behind the brand, and the resources that come with it.

Roughly 60,000 wildfires burn 8 million acres in the U.S. each year, according to the National Interagency Fire Center, a number projected to grow significantly over the coming decades. WATERAX's mission remains placing powerful, precision-engineered portable pumps into the hands of the wildland firefighters who move water to protect forests and communities.

"Being part of Sentorum lets WATERAX keep doing what it has always done, building dependable pumps for the crews who fight wildfire, while gaining the support of a company that shares our commitment to getting people home safe," said Raffaele Gerbasi, President of WATERAX. "We could not be more excited about what comes next."
