As the flames of the fire line fade, the journey doesn't end for our courageous wildland firefighters. At WATERAX, we recognize the invaluable skills and experiences these individuals bring, which is why we've made it our mission to provide a meaningful space for them beyond the frontlines. Our team now includes four remarkable ex-wildland firefighters who have transitioned seamlessly into roles that not only utilize their expertise but also empower them to contribute to the firefighting community in new and impactful ways.

Zach Grigg, Anthony Trojko, Jordan Botsford, and Michael Cookson are not just names on our roster; they are the embodiment of resilience, dedication, and passion for protecting our forests. Zach's firsthand experience operating the MARK-3® pump during challenging wildfire situations in British Columbia has equipped him to provide professional support and training to our channel partners in the USA. Anthony's role as a Smokejumper has honed his skills in responding to remote fires, making him an invaluable asset in delivering training and support to our European partners. Jordan's journey from the fireline to the classroom and back to the wildfire industry as an Account Manager and Field Specialist reflects his unwavering commitment to this critical work. Michael's frontline experience in battling forest fires in Ontario and Nova Scotia gives him a deep understanding of the challenges faced by wildland firefighters, making him a trusted advocate for introducing groundbreaking firefighting equipment like the MARK-3 Watson Edition pump.

In addition to our team, we've collaborated with former Wildland Firefighter turned artist, Nicole Wiebe, on a special project to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the MARK-3 pump. Nicole's journey from the fireline to pursuing her passion for art showcases the transformative power of following one's dreams. Her unique perspective as a firefighter and artist has resulted in a commemorative t-shirt that honors the legacy of the MARK-3 pump and the dedication of wildland firefighters worldwide. At WATERAX, we not only provide employment opportunities for ex-firefighters but also collaborate with them on meaningful projects that celebrate their contributions to the firefighting community. Our commitment to empowering wildland firefighters extends beyond the fire line, ensuring that they have access to the best and safest equipment while making a lasting impact in their post-firefighting careers. Join us in celebrating these remarkable individuals and the profound difference they continue to make in the world of firefighting.
