Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the role of the Product Specialist is to represent the technical aspects of how the product solves specific customer problems. This position is responsible for working with new and prospective clients to effectively promote the features and benefits of the new MARK-3® Watson Edition pump with the goal of getting customers to switch to this next-generation version and promoting all other WATERAX pump platforms. Working closely with the sales and marketing team, the Product Specialists will perform technical presentations for the product (demos), generate buzz and create awareness, and gather critical input that will result in the successful launch of new products like the MARK-3® Watson edition pump and all our current products.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Promote the WATSON by performing customer and prospect demonstrations;
  • Provide insights on market sizing / adoption rate of Watson;
  • Articulate and leverage the organization’s unique abilities to deliver value to the market;
  • Share sales and product insights and feedback with product management team to facilitate new features and updates;
  • Discover problems in the market by interviewing customers, recent evaluators, and untapped, potential customers. Validate urgent problems to show their pervasiveness in the market;
  • Event Support: Attend / exhibit at trade shows. Provide product and market expertise for events such as conferences, tradeshows, and seminars;
  • Channel Support: Provide on-going support for the sales channel (internal and external) and making it repeatable (creating video training content);
  • Monitor competitive landscape (during trade shows and customer visits);
  • Write detailed reports after each customer visit;
  • Interview activities with existing and potential customers such as performing Win/Loss analysis and conducting surveys;
  • Product testing in various environments;
  • Capture marcom collateral such us testimonials, pictures, videos and generate content for social media platforms;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management;
  • Adhere to all WATERAX policies and procedures pursuant to sales administration processes and guidelines;
  • Adhere to WATERAX guidelines and policies in matters of ethics and code of conduct;

Education & Experience

  • Understanding of WATERAX products, services and capabilities. Must demonstrate ability to understand our products and mechanical concepts and to successfully communicate them to customers and sales channel partners;
  • Work experience in, and technical knowledge of, WATERAX products, applications and targeted industries;
  • Experience in wildland firefighting is an asset;
  • College/Cegep Degree or equivalent, Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
  • Must demonstrate ability to understand our products and mechanical concepts;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Valid driver's licence.
